Crosscheck Inspection Services, a NYC Department of Buildings (DOB)–certified Special Inspection and Material Testing Agency, is seeking a part-time team member to provide construction materials pickup and field support for our inspection and materials testing operations.

The primary responsibility of this position is traveling to construction sites, primarily throughout New York City, to pick up concrete test cylinders and other construction material samples and return them to our laboratory in New Hyde Park, NY. The position may also include dropping off equipment, materials, or supplies at project sites. Occasional travel to project sites on Long Island and in the Hudson Valley may also be required.

This is primarily a weekday morning/early afternoon position. Start times will typically be between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., with the workday generally ending around 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., depending on the day's schedule and assigned route. Occasional weekend availability may also be required based on project and sample pickup needs. Hours may vary from week to week.

This role is well suited for someone who is dependable, organized, comfortable driving throughout the NYC area, and able to safely handle and transport construction material samples. For the right candidate, there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and grow into other field inspection or testing roles.

Responsibilities:

Travel to construction sites, primarily throughout NYC, to pick up concrete test cylinders and other material samples and return them to our New Hyde Park laboratory.
Pick up or drop off equipment, materials, and supplies at project sites as needed.
Safely handle, load, transport, and unload concrete cylinders, samples, equipment, and materials.
Coordinate daily pickups, drop-offs, and other field needs with inspectors, project teams, contractors, and laboratory personnel.
Maintain accurate records of samples picked up and returned to the laboratory.
Assist field inspectors, laboratory staff, and project teams with other field-related tasks as needed.
Occasionally travel to project sites on Long Island and in the Hudson Valley.

Requirements:

Valid NYS Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Comfortable driving throughout NYC and surrounding areas and traveling between multiple project sites during the workday.
Ability to safely lift and carry at least 40 pounds on a regular basis.
Dependable and able to manage a daily schedule of pickups, drop-offs, and field assignments.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work occasional weekends when project needs require.
Willingness to use both company vehicles and a personal vehicle when necessary.
Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check, DMV record review, and drug screening.

Preferred:

Construction-site, field support, materials handling, delivery, or similar experience.
Familiarity with NYC construction sites and travel throughout the five boroughs.
Interest in learning about concrete testing and special inspection work.
